NEW TIP UPDATE

As you can see in the video below, the tip is black. This is because it is teflon coated – kinda like a non stick frying pan (but smaller ;-) . We now have a bunch of patents pending on this design, and when you get it you will understand why!

It works really well and a few pros have been trying it out – the video below was sent in by Federico D’Alessandro.

Federico currently serves as Marvel Studios head storyboard artist and Animatics Supervisor. Entrusted with the creation and development of key action sequences, he has played an important creative role in some of the studio’s biggest hits, such as Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers. He is currently working alongside director Shane Black on 2013′s Iron Man 3.

JaJa with new Precision Teflon Tips gives leading iPad artists the pressure sensitivity to rival the Wacom artistic tablets which cost many thousands of $.

Here are a few images of packaging concepts, for both JaJa and AppTag. These will change a bit in the next few weeks but they are looking pretty good! To be clear – AppTag supports Android, the pack doesn’t have all images on it yet.

Let us know you thoughts in the comments.

Exciting weeks ahead for HEX3!

Below you will see some images of the tooling for the internal plastic parts of the JaJa Stylus. These parts get assembled with the electronics and the metal parts in coming weeks and then shipped to you!

Alex and I will be in Hong Kong and China this week to visit the factory and I’ll give you some more updates from there.

I’ll then be flying on to LA for E3 and a bunch of meetings, and then up to San Jose.

Hello World,

Funded by Kickstarter

Hex 3 is a new company formed from the success of two Kickstarter campaigns which ran from December 2011 to March 2012.

The first product was the JaJa Pressure Sensitive Stylus for the iPad. I raised over $65,000 and pre sold about 3000 Stylus in the 6 weeks that this project ran. The second project was the AppTag Laser Blaster which raised over $55,000 and pre sold about 2800 AppTag units.

Things were getting big, fast!

I started getting major enquiry from large toy and peripheral distributors, wanting multi thousands of units per month…  I quickly realised that I needed to put together a gun commercialisation team. Together the 4 of us have formed a new company and that company is Hex3. We are focussed on peripherals that work with Apps and mobile devices to enhance functionality – toys, stylus and many more are on the way.

The Hex3 team is on the verge of something big, ride with us while we steer our Kickstarter funded company into the future! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!
Jon Atherton

(BTW – why Hex3? It’s about web colours – read more here – our orange is a Hex3 colour and it is officially called “light brilliant tangelo”, oh after weeks of discussion we all agreed HEX3 sounded nifty :-) )
